Preparing for class tomorrow!
You can get an idea of our accommodations. The ladies are being troopers. We have sprayed the showers with disinfectant and replaced the shower curtains. Have seen a few small bugs and on gecko type lizard in the bunkhouse. Living at its finest! Very close to nature.

At School
I have been busy with Mrs. Shirley Humes this morning. I have seen the room for the library. They have had others donate many books. About half of what they have are old text books. The reading books are so needed. I am trying to upload some of the picture I took on Friday night and one on Saturday prior to checking in for our flight. The next attempts will be pictures of our ladies in their classrooms. Keep your fingers crossed that I do not crash their internet.

We are on the plane!
What an adventure!! First they charged my credit card twice for my luggage so I sent the ladies ahead after 30 minutes of waiting. Then security did not like me bringing the microscope on the airplane! We were the last 6 on the plane. I'm not in my reserved seat with extra space. Life is good. We are all on board and ready for Houston.

Getting Ready!
There are so many components to the DSU Study Abroad: Service-learning in Belize I do not know where to start. One of the many components of this year's trip includes doing our best to provide enough books so each classroom has a small library of free reading books. Check out the 250+ pounds of books in these pictures. I have 5 student teachers who each have 50+ pounds of books at the homes / apartments, two DSU professors who will be teaching literacy comprehension strategies to the faculty at Victorious Nazarene Primary School each have 50+ pounds and I am picking up another 250+ pounds of books this weekend from Harvey Elementary School in South Sioux City, NE.
